We should all be so lucky to live a long and full life like mom and dad. But it is also painful to suffer the loss of one's spouse. I am particularly impressed by the sensitivity and kindness each caregiver shows dad. Like all kids , I worry about dad a lot. But I rest better knowing that "Dads Angels" are there looking after him. Working together you all have created a terrific team, which provides for my father in a way that frees his children to spend time with him on their own terms. Dad is so lucky to have such caring, compassionate, and patient angels to help him through each day. It is truly a blessing. Each day is a gift.

I highly recommend Home Helpers as a source of at home care staffing. I have used Home Helpers for the past 8 months to provide at home 24/7 care for my seriously ill husband.  The two main caregivers that Home Helpers sent to us have been exceptional in providing quality, professional and attentive care for my husband.  Our caregivers "sunny" dispositions and companionship are appreciated by my husband and myself. As a 3 times a week dialysis patient, the caregivers help me with Joe's transportation to the dialysis center and sit with him during the treatment. They have also been with us during emergency room and hospital stays.  It is a blessing to be able to keep my husband at home and provide the care he needs. I could only accomplish this with the support of Home Helpers and the angels that work for them.

I think things are working out great.  The girls have just been wonderful.  Especially Mary and Felita during the "great ice storm".  I was in a panic with no electricity for Mom's oxygen (which was remedied by the SAINT across the street with the generator, and Felita in making that happen), but they were calm and collected and kept both Mom and I sane and taken care of.  I really can't thank them enough.

The hospital ordered some home care as Mom was released from the hospital so the house may be hopping for a while.  Mom will have a nurse's aide helping with showers and such, PT and OT will get her physically moving and getting her strength back (this last hospital stay just wiped out all energy and strength) and the visiting nurse will be able to have medical eyes on her twice a week.  With the Home Helper girls added into the mix in keeping her safe, fed and dressed, I'm much more encouraged.  There have been days that I'm quite discouraged in Mom's ability to make a comeback. 

All in all, I'm very happy with Home Helpers (very!). The last service made us feel that any change in schedule was a major infraction and made us feel like it was our entire fault.  You girls have pitched in for anything that needed to happen.  How refreshing!  I thank you profusely!  You have great fans in the Hughes family.

I just wanted to say thank you for all your help. All of your staff is very nice and easy to talk with. Dora is a great employee. We really enjoyed her help and will keep her in mind for future assistance.
