Frequently Asked Questions

Are the caregivers bonded & insured?
Yes. Every Home Helpers caregiver is an employee of our agency. We perform a criminal background on each caregiver; in every state they have lived in. We cover each of them with general liability insurance and worker’s compensation insurance.

Will the same caregiver come each day/shift?
Our goal is to establish a long-term relationship between client and caregiver, and to keep the same caregiver with a client as long as the client is satisfied.  We introduce two caregivers to you at the start of service. Our caregivers are human and they do get sick or have family emergencies, so it may be necessary to schedule more than one caregiver in a given week. In any case, we want to have the same caregiver(s) coming each week, as long as you are happy with them.

Are home care services covered by insurance or Medicare?
Many long-term care insurance, worker’s compensation, and Veterans Aid and Attendance benefits will reimburse for these kinds of services. Additionally, funds from Reverse Mortgages and Flexible Spending Accounts are often used to pay for home care.

Home Helpers has relationships with many of these companies. We will help you and your family through the process involved with determining what a policy will actually cover, and we will provide the documentation your insurance company requests.

Medicare does not pay for this type of hourly companion and personal care service.

Do I pay the caregiver directly?
No. You will be invoiced after the completion of services- on a bi-weekly basis. Because all Home Helpers caregivers are employees of the company, you will not have to pay them directly.

What is the cost for these services?
Home Helpers will customize a plan of care that is unique to every client, and fits within your budget.  Our services are billed on an hourly basis.  To discuss the rates for the services you are looking for contact us at 817-337-9001. Your representative will provide you with a complementary in-home consultation, and discuss the rates and available options in detail.

How do I start service?
To start services, we arrange a time to visit with the family, and/or client and do a complimentary assessment to fully discuss the care situation.

At that time, we decide the most appropriate care services that are needed, and match you with the right caregiver. To assure that every client receives the specific services they want, we also complete a customized plan of care for each client.

What services are provided?
Home Helpers is a national network of providers of in-home care and assistance for the elderly and disabled in their homes. We help you or your loved ones by arranging for trained, bonded and insured caregivers in the home for as little as a few hours or as much as 24 hours a day.
